Letter from CEO: St Patrick's Day

A Note from the CEO:
The Luck of the Irish

Happy St. Patrick's Day. Our family is pretty darn Irish. My grandfather was Ducky Mahoney, we trace our roots to County Cork, and I've always counted on the Luck of the Irish when I needed it most. Today, I think about it every morning when I breathe clean, forest-fresh air inside my own home.

Last week, I was in South Korea working with our manufacturing partners on product innovations and a significant milestone: moving our production to the United States. On the way to a meeting, my partner glanced out the car window at the sky and quietly said, "No yellow dust today."

He explained that factory emissions from neighboring countries drift east on the wind and regularly blanket Korean skies in toxic clouds of chemical pollutants. Korea is one of the most health-conscious nations I've ever visited. Yet the people there have no control over what crosses their borders. They go to sleep every night not knowing what the wind will bring by morning.

None of us can. We can't control what our neighbor burns in their fireplace, the industrial facility two towns over, or the wildfire burning in the next county. We can't control the highways cutting through our neighborhoods or the VOC-laden air that drifts in after a renovation project across the street. I don't believe anyone wakes up wanting to harm the people around them. We simply all have different relationships with what's acceptable to put into the air we share.

That's why I'm so grateful for what we've built. WellisAir is no bigger than a small bookend. It sits quietly on a shelf, a countertop, or tucked in a corner on the floor. What it does inside your home, though, is anything but small. Around the clock, it generates hydroxyls, the same molecules that clean the air in forests and open fields, to neutralize the toxic VOCs, mold mycotoxins, and harmful odors that drift in from a world we can't always predict or control.

My Korean partner looked up at a clear sky that morning and felt genuine relief. I want you to feel that every day, without ever having to check the forecast. Clean, protected air waiting for you at home. If that's not a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, I don't know what is.

I’m grateful to share Luck of the Irish with you. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Breathe safely,
Bruce Somers, Jr.CEO, WellisAir
